np: shedaisy - mine all mine
i know its been a while, and unlike the other times when i dint update, my life's actually been pretty eventful in the past month. exams started and ended and the day after they ended anita came up to melbourne from hobart. we did the unthinkable and partied 3 nights in a row on the 21st 22nd and 23rd november...and after that could barely feel our legs. i think at that point any one of us would have been happy to never see the inside of a club again. of course, since its the 3 of us, that feeling didnt last.
sandy's sister diviya came down to melb from singapore from the 24th to the 29th and the 4 of us had a blast going around melbourne together, trying good food and cafes and even going for a train ride up in the mountains. i was really happy she could stay for my birthday which turned out to be pretty awesome. much love and thanks to my sis, sand, div and anita who cooked, organised the party and bought a fabulous tiramisu cake that was bigger than my head.
anita's last night was the 1st, so we went clubbing at crown. it was pretty cool with the live band and stuff. hopefully she enjoyed her holiday and arnott, bridget and coco will be reunited soon hahaha.
i was so drained in the last 5 days before leaving melbourne that i just vegetated in my room watching movies and tv shows that i downloaded or koped from other people. i could not bring myself to get dressed and go out. and plus, my new apartment is so nice, that i dont want to leave anyway. moving and setting up furniture was a real bitch and i never wanna go to ikea again, but the end results was worth it.
night before i left, i met sand, alberto, gerald and just for one last night of fun. it was a good night just chilling in bars and vowing not to sleep. at 7am i ran into uni to check the all important exam results and thankfully i did well and have a confirmed place in vet science now :D its been a long 10 year wait but its finally over so thats a major relief. so with a spring in my step i followed sand to southern cross where we sat with coffee at 730am watching the city wake up and i realised...
it was a fucking awesome year. i had a great time in school, i did well in school for the first time in a long time because i was happy. i made some wonderful new friends, and my friendships with old friends remained just as strong or maybe even got stronger after being tested by the 6000miles between singapore and melbourne.i worked hard(sorta), partied harder, had a little bit of romance, a little bit of heartbreak (or lets not exaggerate, it was more of a heartbruise) and the best part was finally achieving my dream. it was up and down a couple of times this year, but looking back...it was a fantastic year. hopefully this summer is a really good one and i go back to school in 2008 refreshed and ready to go. and who knows, maybe 2008 will be even better. |

np: Goo Goo Dolls - Here is gone
seriously ppl, my life is damn unexciting..stop asking me to update my blog. you're just asking for 3 minutes of boredom.
couple of weeks ago was Derrick's birthday, which pretty much turned into the best birthday party ive ever been to, seeing how it stretched over THREE DAYS! trivia night on thursday at a pub near our place with a big bunch of ppl. by the end of the night the entire place knew it was derrick's birthday, were chanting his name, coming up to wish him a happy birthday, and cheering him on as he sculled beer. it was amazing. aussies are so incredibly friendly sometimes that it just warms your heart. we were supposed to club at crown after that, but the guys couldnt get in with sneakers, so that fell flat. saturday was Derrick's birthday party part2 at PJ's place, where much alcohol was drunk, especially by Derrick and Callum and many embarrassing photos and videos involving derrick and a thong were taken. we went out to Nightcat after that...i thought it was gonna be weird cos i cant dance to latin music, but it was pretty good. we even saw one guy from trivia night. brunswick seems like a pretty cool place...i wanna go back there again at a more decent hour of the night. haha.
not much has been happening since then, except Diego invited a bunch of us to a latin dance night, with proceeds going to peruvian earthquake victims. clubbing for a good cause, how to say no?
just been living in the library since then...usually go in around 9 or 10 and stay til 6 tho today sandhya and i were there from 9-8. all together now: PHWOAAAAAAR!
haha we've worked out a good system where we study for 3 hours, break for 1 hour, then study for 3 hours again. its all working out quite well...and hopefully i remember everything i read and ace my exams.
just had an awful, horrifying, shocking revelation yesterday. sandz and i went to shanghai dumpling for lunch and each ate 9 dumplings and 2 red bean paus....then later that night, she tells me on MSN...6 pork dumplings have 500 calories.

i swear we were so depressed and upset. it was really horrible. i mean CMON...dumplings are STEAMED....any food that is steamed automatically becomes healthy and diet-material right? RIGHT??? wah lao eh. i feel damn cheated. now i will never be able to enjoy my har gao, xiao long bao and dim sum in peace again...i'll just keep thinking 500 calories, 500 CALORIEEEEEEEEEEES.....nabei.
ok anita has booked her ticket to melbourne OMGGGGG YAAAAAAAY. so exciting. i cannot wait to see her, sandz and i are already planning what to do in the 2 weeks she's here.

its a big issue in singapore now apparently....3 british tourists making fun of an old uncle who was giving them a ride in his trishaw...then they just got off and dint pay. assholes.i just cant fathom how ppl can be so rude and obnoxious.

np: simon webbe - coming around again
ok this update is for navleen, who complained that i dont blog. i dunno why it matters to her, I TELL HER EVERYTHING EVERY NIGHT ANYWAY! haha but i shall oblige cos i have nothing better to do.
so basically what's happened in the last 3 and a half weeks? had 2 weeks of spring break where i did ABSOLUTELY NO WORK and had a bunch of plans go kaput ( i go to Tas, Anita comes here, go driving up to Dandenong, camping in the Grampians...all died) but i had fun anyway. sandhya went home but the night before she left we had one of the best clubbing nights ever at Crown. went to St Kilda to the beach, ate tacos and cake and took nice photos at the pier. i read a couple of great books, saw a couple of good movies and started watching all my tv shows again. went for jarrod's bday at QBH the friday night before school started and it was TMD good. loved it muchos.
it was a nice break for 2 weeks after 8 weeks of non-stop stress/assignments/labs in schools..but when school started...all the stress started all over again! 3 labs last week 3 days in a row. sob. but today was my last physics lab of the year (AND HOPEFULLY EVER) so YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! i wanted to burn my lab book after that, but i shall wait til i know that i passed the subject haha..dont wanna jinx anything. instead of participating in ritual book burning, i lined up for 20 mins in the cold and rain for 2 free hotdogs....the things poor students do for free food i tell you.
woaaaaah i just looked up at the tv and its enrique iglesias performing on so you think you can dance...DAYUM his song sucks.he pronounces walk as WAAAHCK....wtf...and one of the lines in the song sounds like IM PEEING ON MY PHONE! HAHA what in the world. time to hit the mute button methinks.
can i just say i hate boys and their one track mind. its been an issue for friends and myself alot lately. boys are disgusting.and stupid. and unappreciative.

my flight home is on the 7th of december :D thats 2 months away i cant wait that long. i want to see the sun, and eat cheap food that tastes AWE-SUM and i want to party with my girlfriends without a care in the world. first i will ace these exams. hopefully.

i'm in a random moulin rouge phase...hence the music. hello belle!! moulin rouge reminds me of youuu. hugsandkisses.
ok its spring break...and i havent done anything.at all. yet. last week was sooo busy in school and i had very little sleep from wednesday all the way to friday(6.5hours i think) so i crashed thru the weekend. met sand, kerr and pei for brunch and shopping on sunday morning which was really really great, but started feeling sick. accompanied the sis and HK for bowling but was feeling like crap so dint play. went home early to make my honey lemon tea and vegetate on my bed. Kingdom of Heaven was showing which made me p10 nostalgic...all the times we used to watch orlando bloom movies together...LOTR,troy,pirates over and over and over.
went for science ball on wednesday night with ellie, zoe and thy. had to wear a dress and heels and everything and it was FREEEEEEEEZING. saw my physics prac partner, who is a very cute,endearing drunk. i finally found out his name is Bruce. this was our convo at science ball.

afterparty at Royal Melbourne was alright, not as good as the last party but still can pass. ellie zoe and i trooped to burger king at 430am in just our dresses and bare feet(heels were painful) and indulged in some hot burgers. ellie crashed at my place and we pulled an allnighter...staying up talking til about 645am then she went home. and me...what did i do? i had breakfast, had a shower, lazed around and then went to bloody physics lab. needless to say it wasnt the most productive lab what with bruce hung over and me with no sleep. but we got thru it and then got the hell out. only 2 more labs for the year!!!! seriously its the most pointless lesson ive been to this entire year.the number of hours i've wasted on it i tell you.
ive been eating and eating and eating non-stop for days. i swear i feel flabbier by the minute. i need to get out and do smth. initially the plan was to go to hobart to visit tasmania...then it turned into a road trip to dandenong with pei and kerr and sand...now its turn into camping in the grampians with sand this weekend. haha we shall see.
ok im off to try and download prison break now. and meeting sand for SHANGHAI DUMPERLINGS LATER YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

np: bethany joy lenz - halo
yesterday was a good day after a long week. had school from 8-11 in the morning then was off for the weekend. met the sis at 'the lounge' for lunch where we had the nicest lamb and baby spinach. for ten bucks. it was awesome. ran some errands after that and relaxed on south lawn waiting for sand so we could hand in her essays. YAY! hahaha it was a special moment for her i think. we even took pictures.
went down to collins after that to buy my baaaaaaaaag which is so scrumptiously beautiful that i cant stop looking at it and smiling. met up with HK who is sporting a cool new hairstyle and went to try a new cafe on little collins. best chai ive tasted(and cheapest) and the mother of all chocolate cakes(ex though). it was heaven on my tongueeeee.
after that the sis and HK left and sand and i decided we had to walk off our tea. so we walked. to Big W to shop for random rubbish like hair dryer, shampoo and plasters. then we were lamenting about how ugly white crockery is, so we thought we should each buy a nice mug. but sand has a policy that all her mugs should come from other people. so we bought each other a mug. yeah, call us crazy but i dont care. it was fun.
dropped off our shopping at my place and decided to go exploring a bit. so armed with only our sweaters and some cash and phone...we walked. talking, camwhoring, discovering new places that we never knew would exist outside the city centre. now we have a new mission...to explore melbourne's suburbs. spring break seriously cannot come fast enough.
went back to my place after that to collapse cos we were damn tired. google maps said we only walked 1+ km but i dont care...it was more. it was at least 3. google is WRONG. or i'm unfit. either one.anyway...it was a wonderful night. taking stupid ass pictures, talking, walking...it was all good. awesome possum.
i'd post pics of my bag and my mug, but blogger's being a cock again. sorry.

my chem test is due tmr, and i have a bio test on monday...but what did i spend the last 2 days doing? suntanning on south lawn, thats what. and what am i doing tonight? playing poker in jun shen's room. oh my God i should be chained to my desk. i've been procrastinating so badly...i have a spotless toilet, kitchen and carpet,enough clean underwear to last me from now til i graduate, more groceries than i can eat, but NO KNOWLEDGE OF GENETICS!!!!
met up with sand, pei and kerrin today on south lawn for lunch, the sun, daidee, bridge and to catch up. perfect afternoon after the horrible physics lab in the morning. my partner is crazy..he's been going on for TWO WEEKS about how he's gonna come to phys lab on september13th comepletely hung over from science ball, which is the night before. i'm like OK I GET IT, YOU'RE GOING TO SCIENCE BALL AND YOU'RE PLANNING TO GET MIND-NUMBINGLY SMASHED! I GET IT! NOW DO THE FUCKING EXPERIMENT SO I CAN GO HOME!!!
and not to be mean, but his type don't really look like the drink-like-a-fish-til-i-get-smashed type .more like the flat-on-the-floor-after-1-drink-cos-i'm-a-sissy-and-i-cant-handle-alcohol type.i mean, he was wearing a sweater on south lawn yesterday!! A SWEATER?? i was sad that i couldnt take off MORE of my clothes-it was that warm.you know,come to think of it, i dont even know his name. oh well. no big loss.
yesterday was festival of nations at uni. its a little carnival in north court where different ppl from different countries set up stalls with their respective local food/drinks/games....i nicely whacked some calamari, a ramli burger, a milo dinosaur and thai fish cake with ariane, jarrod and sand. i was so full after that, but it all tasted great. ok the milo dino not so much, but after mixing in the milo powder it was better. bloody KSS wouldnt gimme a member discount. that one ah! since the cedar days man! as if milo is so bloody ex. tsk.
went grocery shopping after school today with sand. my God the basket was so heavy i wanted to kick it to the counter. but got some nice fresh chicken and egg to make fried rice, which turned out quite good, but a little burnt. and i almost got stabbed by my falling knife and knocked out by my falling plate...but its all good, i lived to tell the tale. my kitchen is just too small la...you cant cook a proper meal, there's just not enough space. on the weekend i shall make pasta with garlic and pesto sauce. this new almost-domestic-goddess thing is actually quite nice.if only i had a proper oven. i feel like baking. its therapeutic, even if all my stuff usually comes out under or overcooked.
man united vs sunderland this saturday. oh maaaaan i cannot wait i cannot waaaait! roy keane's coming back! :D :D :D
i feel like cutting my hair...its seriously long as hell.almost the middle of my back already and i just cut it about 2 months ago. but i dont trust the hair-dressers here...they find it difficult to cut asian hair.
i am dying to dance.and swim. i think in spring holiday i will take up some classes at the uni gym. kickboxing, hip-hop or maybe aerobics. and i will find a swim suit and go to the pool. but i need nice thighs la. how ironic, i wanna get in shape so i can go exercise in spring.
oh oh BIIIIIIIIIG NEWS! anita may be coming up to melbourne in spring for about 5 days. GAAAH I'M SO EXCITED! sand and i will take her shopping, and to nice little cafes and to the beach.
the temperature tmr is hitting a maximum of only seventeen.and next week's supposed to be cold too. POO!!! bye bye south lawn.

np: when the stars go blue.
i have no idea why, but i just cannot sleep. its fricking 445 in the morning, and i've been awake since 3, which means i slept for only 3 hours just now. i have bio lecture at 8. there's gonna be one BIIIIIIIG coffee with my name on it later. i must say though, vogel's honey/hazelnut clusters at 445am is pretty damn awesome.decided to blog, cos i havent updated in more than a week.
i've been back for a month and a bit now. and ive done nothing but party/go out/have fun. in the words of tyson ritter(that sexy beast): it ends tonight. mid semester tests start next week for me. chem actually starts today, but it's a week long take-home test...essentially making it a NON-TEST, though of course they want us to be disciplined and have integrity and not refer to our notes. bugger off la, every international kid paying 25k a year will be sitting with their textbook,lecture notes and/or A level notes next to them when doing the test so they can get that extra 5% of free marks in their final grade. confirm plus chop. and tons of the locals will be doing it too.
i will have 2 ACTUAL tests on september 3rd. physics and bio. poooooo. genetics and electromagnetism. what shit la. thats ALOT to study. which is why i've decided to cut out the partying. last night's poker night will be my last long night out until tests are over i think(occasional dinner with friends/the sister excluded). i actually won last night, with a little help from sandhya's bro sanjeev. was seriously gonna lose when i let him play for me and went to eat the dessert that came with our AWESOME INDIAN TAKEAWAY FOOD (classic curry-best indian food + best looking indian boy in melbourne HAHA). ya then after he left, i seemed to have damn good luck and won...5bucks, not much, but its cash none the less.
helped sandhya set up her printer yesterday. step1: TAKE IT OUT OF THE DAMN BOX!! hahahaha...but it dint work on her com cos she's got Windows Vista which is like, too high class for the printer or smth.so that was that...at least its up and running with ink in it. i'll never forget her reaction when i first turned on the power : EH got lights all! yay!

its been a pretty good week. last wednesday sand's dad was in town and he took us all out. haha he and the chinese waitress were totally at war over the tea, which was basically boiling water. it was daaaaaaamn funny.thursday night was awesome possum night. just me, sandhya, classic curry(where we discovered the hot cashier) and chais. good view (both human and inanimate HAHA), good food, and great company. perfect night. friday estelle had a little french themed housewarming. croissants and wine was the order of the day. we kinda got kicked out of the building for making too much noise, but it was all good. saturday was drinks with mel, esther and liz. and we went to papa gino's for dinner. yummmmy pizza. sunday was spent with the sis and we discovered a very nice coffee place tucked away in a little side street.
this week's been really busy so far. got ALL my labs and tutes this week so its been hectic and stressful. but its all over and next week's quite slack, which is good cos i need time to study for bio and phys.
parents have decided that the sis and i are to go to mumbai for a month in summer hols....we're planning to negotiate it down to 2 weeks. haha seriously, we dont know anyone in mumbai, WHAT TO DO THERE...i wanna go back to sgp. speaking of holidays, i want to go to hobart in spring with my awesome possum and spend a few days with our tasmanian devil, (she's really durning into a devil....naughty naughty anita!).
